Past Continuous => czasownik “to be” jest w czasie przeszłym

 

I was - ja byłem                                                        we were - my byliśmy

you were  - ty byłeś                                                  you were - wy byliście

he was - on był                                                         they were - oni byli

she was - ona była

it was - ono / to było

I was singing. Śpiewałem. (Dosłownie: Byłem śpiewający.)

You were talking. Rozmawiałeś.

He was sleeping at 5 a.m. On spał o 5 rano.

They were playing board games all day yesterday. Oni grali w planszówki wczoraj cały dzień.

We were riding our bikes at that time. Jechaliśmy na rowerach wtedy / o tej godzinie.

 

Przeczenie: dodajemy not, w skrócie: n't

I wasn't                                                            we weren't

you weren't                                                      you weren't

he wasn't                                                           they weren't

she wasn't

it wasn't

I wasn't cooking dinner yesterday at 3 p.m.. Nie gotowałem obiadu wczoraj o 15.

She wasn’t working last Sunday at 4 p.m.. Ona nie pracowała wczoraj o 16.

He wasn’t driving at that moment. On nie prowadził auta w tamtym momencie.

 

W pytaniu odwracamy kolejność:

She was dancing.

Was she dancing?

Yes, she was.  / No, she wasn’t.

Where was she dancing?
